Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra to Present Spring Concert “Sounds of Italy”

Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra (OSO) invites you to their annual spring concert, Sounds of Italy, to be held Saturday evening, May 17th, 7:30 pm at Bridge View Center. OSO, under the direction of Dr. William LaRue Jones, will perform Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni; the 4th movement of the Cello Concerto by Edward Elgar featuring our Young Artist Competition winner, Keira Cromwell; Capriccio Italien by P.I. Tchaikovsky; and Pines of Rome by Ottorino Respighi.

While this concert is the final subscription concert of the 24-25 season,  the orchestra isn’t finished performing yet! On June 8th they will be presenting the annual Music on the Green, entitled “Breezin’” on the Marge Dodd Stage on the campus at Indian Hills Community College at 7:00 pm. It will feature Steve Grismore, jazz guitarist, under the direction of Assistant Conductor to OSO, David Sharp.

Tickets for Sounds of Italy are $30 and can be purchased HERE or at the door. Kids’ admission is free.
